in my former life I was a rocket engineer. currently, I’m a producer and writer of stories that resonate.

I should’ve been a statistic of Chicago’s South Side. Twice. I was also a quiet kid with more inside her than the world always made room for. Made in Chicago, raised at Spelman College, and having worked within Fortune 500 companies where I’ve sat with people from varied backgrounds, I live at the intersection of cultural and societal Venn diagrams. This perspective shapes how I see the world and the stories I choose to tell.

I’d always felt like I was here for a reason even after I’d done a pretty good job of convincing myself it was to be an engineer. And then I woke up with a story. That night I wrote it. Then another. I had so many stories I enrolled in American University and received my MA in Film and Video Production to learn to produce them.

Now I understand what that reason is. Written1 Productions intends to change the narrative—to share stories from a perspective that understands diverse voices and what unites them.
